Meet Molly – Our Kids Clay Instructor
Molly’s love for clay started early—at just 6 years old—when she attended Doodlebug Ceramics summer camp in San Anselmo. She loved it so much that years later, she returned as a camp teacher! Since then, Molly has gone on to study Figurative Sculpture at the Glasgow School of Art and earned her MFA in Fine Arts from Parsons School of Design.
With a passion for both art and education, Molly has spent over a decade teaching pottery and sculpture to children, college students, and adults with developmental disabilities. She brings a warm, patient, and encouraging approach to every class, making sure each student feels confident to try something new and express themselves through clay.
Molly is also a longtime volunteer and summer camp instructor at WildCare in Marin, where she’s helped kids connect with animals and nature. Her classes are all about creativity, exploration, and fun—perfect for young artists who are curious about clay!
🧒 Kids Camp FAQ (Ages 7–11)
Do the kids need any experience with clay?
Not at all! These camps are beginner-friendly and built for exploration. We guide campers through each step and focus on creativity over perfection.
What kinds of things will they make?
Everything from animal mugs and snack bowls to silly sculptures and storytelling pieces! We use pinch, slab, and coil techniques, and every camper gets to try the potter’s wheel.
What should my child bring each day?
Please pack a water bottle, a snack, and clothes that can get messy. We provide all the clay, tools, aprons, and materials.
How many kids are in each session?
We keep camps small—usually 6 to 10 kids—so each child gets plenty of attention and space to create.
Can I stay with my child during camp?
We encourage drop-off so kids can build independence and connect with their peers. You’re welcome to stay for a few minutes if they need help getting settled.
When do we pick up their finished pieces?
You’ll receive an email 3–4 weeks after camp to let you know when everything is fired and ready for pickup!
Can my child sign up for more than one week?
Yes! Each week features new projects and creative prompts, so campers can return for multiple sessions and make something different every time.
What if I need to cancel?
Cancellations made more than 7 days before camp are eligible for a full refund, minus a $55 admin fee. Within 7 days, we offer a 50% refund (minus the fee), and after camp begins, we’re unable to issue refunds.
