In this one-day workshop designed just for Burke’s students, kids will spend the day handbuilding with clay, learning fun techniques, and making pieces that are equal parts creative and practical.
Think of it as a choose-your-own-adventure in clay: maybe it’s a cocoa mug with a wiggly handle, a snack bowl for popcorn, or a mini animal sculpture with plenty of personality. The focus is on play, exploration, and letting each student’s imagination lead the way.
Why it’s great for ages 7–13:
This age group is bursting with creativity and ready to explore projects that feel both fun and independent. Pottery gives them the chance to experiment, problem-solve, and express themselves—without the pressure of “getting it right.” They’ll walk away with new skills, more confidence, and pieces that feel truly their own.
We’ll pause midday for a lunch break outside (please pack a lunch!) before diving back into the studio for more clay time. At the end of the day, every camper leaves with finished projects that will be glazed, fired, and ready for pick-up in a few weeks.
