👻 Boo Mug Workshop - Sept. 26th from 6:30-9pm

$59.00

Let’s get Halloween started and craft a Spooktacular Sip!

Upcoming Dates:

  • Friday, September 26th from 6:30–9:00pm

Fall’s favorite ghost is making an appearance in the studio! In this beginner-friendly handbuilding class, you’ll sculpt your own ghostly Boo Mug—perfect for pumpkin spice, cider, tea, or any cozy brew you love.

What You’ll Do

  • Build Your Boo – Use clay slabs to shape the base, then attach ghostly arms and a handle to give your mug its eerie-but-adorable personality.

  • Learn Solid Skills – Kat will guide you through core pottery techniques like scoring-and-slipping so your mug is both sturdy and functional.

  • Glaze Like a Pro – Learn how to use colored glazes to create a durable, food-safe finish. Go for a classic white ghost, spooky black, or surprise everyone with a bold pop of color.

After Class

We’ll handle all the firing and final glaze magic for you. Your ghost will be ready for pick-up in about 3 weeks, fully food-safe, dishwasher-friendly, and microwave-safe.

What’s Included

  • All clay, tools, and materials

  • Step-by-step instruction from Kat

  • BYOB welcome (21+) — a little wine makes ghost-making even more spirited

Whether you’re a total beginner or a seasoned potter looking for a festive project, this is your chance to make something cute, functional, and very boo-tiful.

Instructor Bio:

Inspired by weekends at the flea market with her dad, Michelle has been enamored with handicrafts and shiny things since she was young. After learning how to make jewelry in high school, the obsession took off and she started her jewelry business, mjxl studio, in San Francisco. For the last 2.5 years, she has ventured into functional ceramics, making wares for the home and her business. Creating beautiful and functional pieces through playful exploration is an irreplaceable joy in her life she hopes to share with others. This creative journey has led her to Studio Sumi where she’s excited to learn by assisting with ceramic production and studio operations.
