Celebrate the season with a festive night of ornament painting at our Holiday Ornament Bar! Join us for an evening of creativity and holiday cheer as you design and decorate your own set of ceramic ornaments using vibrant underglazes. Guided by our experienced instructor, you’ll explore the art of painting on ceramics to create beautiful, custom ornaments that will shine on any tree.

In this 2-hour guided workshop, you’ll have the chance to paint and personalize five pre-made ceramic ornaments. Our instructor will introduce you to underglazing techniques that allow for bright, vivid colors and endless creative possibilities. Whether you’re a beginner or have experience, you’ll enjoy exploring patterns, illustrations, or abstract designs that make each ornament uniquely yours.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Applying Underglaze: Learn how to use underglazes to create rich, colorful designs on bisque-fired ceramics. You’ll get tips on layering colors for depth and smooth application.

  • Design Techniques: Experiment with sponges, brushes, and simple tools to add textures, patterns, and details. Even if you’re new to painting, these techniques make it easy to create something beautiful.

  • Personalized Ornament Creations: Choose from holiday-themed shapes like trees, snowflakes, sweaters, and more! And use a mix of colors and designs to make each ornament one-of-a-kind.

All tools and materials are provided, including an apron and a variety of underglaze colors. Enjoy a complimentary glass of wine as you paint, and feel free to BYOB to make it an extra festive experience!

Final Touches:
After you’ve completed your ornaments, Studio Sumi will handle the clear glaze and firing process to make them shine. Your set of five ornaments will be ready for pickup in about 2 weeks, and we’ll send you an email with pickup details when they’re ready.

Before Class

Please arrive about 5 minutes before the workshop begins so you can settle in. We have coat racks for you to place your jacket and belongings.

Age Requirement

This class is 21+ and participants are welcome to BYOB—alcoholic or non-alcoholic. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate will be provided to keep things cozy.

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

To request a cancellation or refund, please email bri@sumiware.com. Please note: All refunds are subject to a $10 processing fee to cover transaction costs.
– Refunds requested more than one week prior to the workshop are fully refundable or you can reschedule to a different class.
– No refunds or rescheduling available within 7 days of the start of class.

Sickness & COVID Policy

If you’re feeling unwell, especially with symptoms like fever, sore throat, or cough, please stay home. If you notify us at least 48 hours in advance, we’ll offer a one-time reschedule due to illness.

For COVID-related absences, you must notify us within 24 hours of the class and provide a doctor’s note to qualify for rescheduling. This helps us keep the studio safe and healthy for everyone.
