🎄 A little clay, a little bubbly, and ornaments you’ll bring out every year.

Take a break from the holiday rush and spend a few hours making something by hand. Join us at Studio Sumi for a cozy ornament-making workshop with holiday music, a glass of bubbly, and plenty of room to make it your own.

Bring a friend, make it a holiday date, or come on your own for some creative downtime. You’ll turn clay into a collection of ornaments for your tree, thoughtful handmade gifts, or a mix of both.

Make Them Yours

During this 2.5-hour workshop, you’ll make approximately 3–5 ceramic ornaments, depending on size and complexity. We’ll show you how to shape, decorate, and personalize each one with:

  • Classic holiday shapes or your own playful designs

  • Colorful underglazes, carved patterns, and textures

  • Names, initials, or a date to mark a special year

  • Simple sculptural details for a little extra character

You don’t need to arrive with a plan or any clay experience. We’ll have examples, cookie cutters, and step-by-step guidance to help you get started.

Everything’s Included

  • Clay, tools, and decorating materials

  • Instruction throughout the workshop

  • A complimentary glass of bubbly or sparkling cider

  • Clear glazing and firing for your ornaments

  • Holiday music while you make

Firing & Pickup

Leave your ornaments with us after class, and we’ll clear glaze and fire them for a glossy finish. They’ll be ready for pickup in 3-4 weeks. We’ll email you when they’re ready.

Before Class

Please arrive about 5 minutes before the workshop begins so you can settle in. We have coat racks for you to place your jacket and belongings.

Age Requirement

This class is 21+ and participants are welcome to BYOB—alcoholic or non-alcoholic. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate will be provided to keep things cozy.

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

To request a cancellation or refund, please email bri@sumiware.com. Please note: All refunds are subject to a $10 processing fee to cover transaction costs.
– Refunds requested more than one week prior to the workshop are fully refundable or you can reschedule to a different class.
– No refunds or rescheduling available within 7 days of the start of class.

Sickness & COVID Policy

If you’re feeling unwell, especially with symptoms like fever, sore throat, or cough, please stay home. If you notify us at least 48 hours in advance, we’ll offer a one-time reschedule due to illness.

For COVID-related absences, you must notify us within 24 hours of the class and provide a doctor’s note to qualify for rescheduling. This helps us keep the studio safe and healthy for everyone.
