In this playful, beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll handbuild a custom ceramic bowl made just for your furry (or feathered) best friend. Think: their name carved into the side, their personality captured in the details, and something you’ll actually be excited to put out in your space.

In this 2.5-hour class, you’ll:

✨ Learn how to slab-build your own pet bowl using simple handbuilding techniques
🎨 Paint with colored underglazes to add pattern, color, and personality
✏️ Carve names, paw prints, or designs using sgraffito and surface carving
🐶 Add sculptural details like ears, bones, or little accents that feel like them

Your instructor will guide you step-by-step with demos, ideas, and hands-on help so you can bring your vision to life.

No experience needed. Just come in, get your hands in clay, and make something your pet will (unintentionally) love.

This is a great one for pet parents, date nights, or anyone who wants to make something personal and functional. If you have a favorite photo of your pet, bring it for inspo.

After Class
We’ll handle all the behind-the-scenes magic. Your piece will dry, be bisque fired, glazed with a clear, food-safe finish, and fired again.

Your bowl will be ready for pickup in about 4–5 weeks, and we’ll email you as soon as it’s ready.

What’s Included
All materials, tools, clay, and aprons are provided. We’ve also got a self-serve coffee and tea bar, and you’re welcome to BYOB and sip while you create.

Before Class

Please arrive about 5 minutes before the workshop begins so you can settle in.

Age Requirement

This class is 21+ and participants are welcome to BYOB—alcoholic or non-alcoholic. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate will be provided to keep things cozy.

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

To request a cancellation or refund, please email bri@sumiware.com. Please note: All refunds are subject to a $10 processing fee to cover transaction costs.
– Refunds requested more than one week prior to the workshop are fully refundable or you can reschedule to a different class.
– Refunds requested within one week of the workshop are 50% refundable.
– Rescheduling is available within 5 days of the start of class.
– No refunds are given within 24 hours of the start of class.

Sickness & COVID Policy

If you’re feeling unwell, especially with symptoms like fever, sore throat, or cough, please stay home. If you notify us at least 48 hours in advance, we’ll offer a one-time reschedule due to illness.

For COVID-related absences, you must notify us within 24 hours of the class and provide a doctor’s note to qualify for rescheduling. This helps us keep the studio safe and healthy for everyone.
