In just two hours, you’ll unwind in our welcoming studio, learn hands-on pottery techniques, and create a custom ceramic piece that’s unique and very you. Perfect if you’re looking for something fun, creative, and a totally different start to your week!

Led by our experienced Studio Sumi instructors, this workshop is a fun and approachable learning experience. Our team is known for their humor, expertise, and ability to make even beginners feel at ease, guiding you step by step so you leave feeling inspired and accomplished.
What You’ll Do
In this 2-hour workshop, you’ll:
Work with clay to build and shape your design
Use ready made templates to create functional or decorative forms
Learn pottery basics like scoring and slipping to attach pieces seamlessly
Experiment with surface decoration, including carving and stamping to personalize your creation
Whether you envision a mug, a bowl, or something totally unique, this workshop provides the skills and encouragement to bring your vision to life. It’s like a clay open workshop!
Once your piece is complete, you’ll select your glaze color, and our team will take care of the rest. We’ll carefully fire your pieces and hand-glaze your creation, ensuring it’s both microwave and dishwasher safe. In 4 weeks you’ll receive an email with pickup instructions, ready to enjoy and showcase your handmade creation 💙

Before Class
Please arrive about 5 minutes before the workshop begins so you can settle in.
Age Requirement
This class is 21+ and participants are welcome to BYOB—alcoholic or non-alcoholic. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate will be provided to keep things cozy.
Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
To request a cancellation or refund, please email bri@sumiware.com. Please note: All refunds are subject to a $10 processing fee to cover transaction costs.
– Refunds requested more than one week prior to the workshop are fully refundable or you can reschedule to a different class.
– Refunds requested within one week of the workshop are 50% refundable.
– Rescheduling is available within 5 days of the start of class.
– No refunds are given within 24 hours of the start of class.

Sickness & COVID Policy
If you’re feeling unwell, especially with symptoms like fever, sore throat, or cough, please stay home. If you notify us at least 48 hours in advance, we’ll offer a one-time reschedule due to illness.
For COVID-related absences, you must notify us within 24 hours of the class and provide a doctor’s note to qualify for rescheduling. This helps us keep the studio safe and healthy for everyone.
